MINUTES OF COUNCIL MEETING HELD 11^th June 2008

APOLOGIES.

Apologies for absence were received from Mr R Smith, Mr R Jones, Mr F Hemmings, Mr J Vant and

Mrs C Gough.

23. VACANCY, CHIRK NORTH WARD.

Before business started on this item, Cllr Michael Maxfield declared his interest and left the meeting.

The Clerk reported that four eligible persons had applied to the advertisement to fill the vacancy –

Alec Don, Caeaugwynion Farm House, Chirk.

Miss Jacqueline A Win-Jones, Oaklea, Pentre.

Mrs Jacqueline Allen, 22 Telford Rise, Chirk.

Mr John Gibbens, 14 Wern, Lodgevale Park, Chirk.

Each application was given due consideration and the applicants were interviewed separately following which it was decided to have a ballot to decide the person to be co-opted to fill the vacancy.

Following the ballot Miss Jacqueline A Win-Jones was elected to be co-opted to the Council.
